MM: Studio Progress and Kid Crack

Miscellany Monday @
lowercase letters

1. Progress:

I finally made some more progress on the studio this weekend. I am so close to having a fully stocked, fully working art studio right in my back yard... yay!!

I made my last few studio must-have purchases:

A bench grinder and a window air conditioning unit
(will be so thankful for that in a couple months)

I still miss our studio in Stone Mountain, but it has been so much better for the boys (and the bank account) to not have to drive down to the village 4 times a week.
I have taken lots of progress pics,
and hopefully I'll have some "finished" pics to post by Friday!

2. BOYS in a BOX:

Boys love boxes... and why shouldn't they? Cardboard boxes offer endless possibilities for fun if you have a little imagination. The boys have made fantastic spaceships, forts,
robot costumes, planes, and trains in a matter of minutes and had entertainment for hours.

Sometimes they don't even have to decorate it to have a good time.

Nolan happened upon this box by looking for a place to sit and collapsing right into it... (which we all thought was hilarious)

Then of course, Ty has to join him and they just sit in there cracking up for no particular reason.

For having such opposite personalities, these two sure have a good time together :)

3: Candy Explosion

The boys racked up on candy over Easter.

(and yes, Reese had to use a pumpkin basket to find Easter eggs... epic mom fail)

Usually when they get that much sweet stuff, I save it and let them have a piece here and there for a treat.

There was one thing that Reese just couldn't wait to have:

And that would be a little bottle with a hard candy top that children are suppose to lick and dip into a vat of pure flavored sugar,

 aka: kid crack.

Who thought this was a good idea?? Ughhhh, I was
hoping he would forget about it and I could just accidentally misplace it somewhere.

But no, he remembered.

And just guess what happened next:

Step 1:  First taste, pure bliss!!

Step 2:  Chug a lug... the equivalent of about 25 pixy stix

Step 3:  Spill remaining slobbery sugar all over Mommy's couch pillows...

And Step 4:

Sugar remorse.

Don't worry honey, we've all been there... ;)

Happy Monday!

Friday Things: I Love...

SPRINGTIME: I love hanging out with my family on the back porch, celebrating birthdays, chit-chatting and enjoying this beautiful weather.

My little brother JT turned 13 this week, 13!!

I can't believe it. I remember the day he was born... my sister and I were in the hospital room with my mom and as soon as she started having labor pains, we ran outta there as fast as we could! In my defense, I was 14 at the time and was soooo not into witnessing the miracle of life. :)

At JT's request, my mom made this layered birthday cake- 5 different flavors!

SCHOOL: I have been itching to get back in school. Goose has officially put his foot down and said, "not right now." I don't get what his deal is... I mean, what's so crazy about going back to school while havingafourthbabyinthethemiddleofhomeschoolingmy twinsandtryingtorunabusiness? eeeeeasy peazy.

KICKS: Baby B started kicking me like craaaaaaaazy this week, and I finally felt it on the outside with my hand today. Yay! I can't wait until goose and the boys get to feel him too :)

BABIES:  So I lied. I would totally have more kids if Goose was up for it. After the third, I've kinda felt like the more the merrier. We'll see if I still feel like that after the 4th. :)

FRIENDS: My BFF is studying Anthropology and is going to India for the month of May. This makes me super jelly.

Although India is not on my "top ten places I want to visit" list, I would still love to  travel outside the USA and experience other cultures. I am helping her set up a blog to keep up with her adventures here :)

SMILES: My eldest (by two whole minutes) lost his top front tooth today and it. is. awesome.

Just look at that face:

Have a lovely weekend!! :)

We are having a... gender reveal- for serious :)

Okay, so I didn't feel like waiting another week to announce it.

We actually found out the sex a few weeks ago, but I wanted to wait until after my official appointment to tell anyone.

We are having a boy!

Everything looks good and baby boy is healthy and measuring right on track!

Thank you so much for all your thoughts and prayers- Love :)

MM: 20 Weeks and Breaking Bad

Miscellany Monday @
lowercase letters

1. Spring is in the Air:

Literally, and Ty has some serious allergy issues. We took him to the doctor and they gave him breathing treatments (which he thought was hilarious of course) and then he went to the hospital for steroids.

He got allergy medicine and an inhaler. Haven't had to use the inhaler, thankfully, the allergy medicine seems to be working great.

2. Spring Breakin It:

Spring break was fun this year. We went to the new LegoLand at Phipps:

They had a 4D movie that the kids loved.

Exhausting, but a great experience for the kiddos.

3. Breaking Bad:

The husband and I had a much needed night out a couple weekends ago for a friend's bday. We went to Atlanta to a tapas restaurant.  Good times...

When we went back out to the car, we were greeted with this:

Someone smashed the window and grabbed goose's work laptop bag. It's a pain, but we were thankful that was all it was. I'd rather deal with a broken window than getting mugged or car-jacked or worse. It's all about perspective people. Atlanta is not the safest city around.

Speaking of broken things, this is what my phone has looked like for about a month.

My disastrous relationship with electronics continues...  Amazing thing is, it still works.

4. Out in the Country:

I have been wanting to take the boys strawberry picking forever and was finally able to take them to a farm near our house.

$10 for a bucket and they had so much fun :)

We had so many strawberries we decided to dip some in chocolate, which the boys thought was the greatest idea ever.

We were not able to eat them all, but not for lack of trying ;)

5. Prayer:

Tomorrow is our big 20 week ultrasound. This is when we found out all the complications with Evie, but I have not been too anxious about it. I know God is with us and I am just praying, praying, praying for an all good report. :)

I am also looking on Pinterest for some "gender reveal" ideas. We aren't doing a party or anything, but I was thinking a cute photo for the blog would be fun. My cuz-n-law is a great photographer, so we are going to brainstorm this week...  I think this one is pretty simple and cute, just need to find a big balloon:

Pregnancy... the first 4 months.

Playing catch up:

How far along: 18 Weeks- yes, only 18 weeks... if you think I look huge now? just wait... this is why I have never taken weekly preggo pics- it's embarrassing. My babe has no room to go but out. One thing I do not enjoy about being short: I look as wide as I am tall by the end of it... it's not pretty.

Btw, if you want to see the cutest pregnant woman ever- go here :)

Her husband took pictures and made a short slideshow- adorable.

Weight Gained: around 12 pounds- add that to the 5 lbs I gained around the holidays and our vacation right before I found out I was pregnant,
and I am well on my way to chunky town.

Month 1-2 : Pizza and heavy carbs at first because I was so nauseous and only felt decent while eating... which accounts for the 1st trimester weight gain. Grapefruit juice was all I could drink.
Craved sour everything.

Month 3-4: Coke and beer... the two worst things in the world for a preggo lady to drink. Now obviously I don't give in to the beer craving... but it's sooo weird, I never had it with any other pregnancies.

Caaaa-razy dreams this pregnancy...
like ridiculouslylongLordoftheRingsepicjourney type dreams
for serious.
Super nauseous but only threw up 3 times (totally different than other pregnancies).

Night sickness beginning at 13 weeks.

Major headaches during the14-15th weeks.

At 16 weeks I started feeling so much better. Lovely.

I totally stopped taking prenatal vitamins. They make me violently sick. I have been taking the boys' Flintstones vitamins most days. Those don't seem to bother me nearly as much.

Feeling:  Emotional... way more than usual.

Names I love: Emerson, Ellis, Elliot, Stella, Sailor, Violet, Finn...

David does not like any of my names. I might as well just let him pick something... or the boys. They have come up with some really great names. I think "Hot Sauce," "Benkay," and, "Fingertip" are my favorites so far. :)

Milestones:  Last Saturday (the 24th) I felt the baby kick for the first time, and now I am feeling kicks like crazy.

 Love, love, love.
