Fashionista. I am not.

Our date night got canceled cause the babysitters (i.e. Grandma and Grandpa) were already booked for the night.

Lameness, but I did have some extra time to finish the closet!

Woohoooo!

I went a
little crazy, and got rid of about 75% of my wardrobe.

So I have a lot of extra space now...

(Goose's clothes are on the top, mine on the bottom)

I probably should go shopping.

But that leads me to my next dilemma and...

Confession #2

I have NO sense of fashion.

Once in elementary school… I wore two different shoes to school without even realizing it. Then, upon noticing this fashion faux pas on the bus, I just shrugged and went on about my day… That pretty much sums up my effort towards my wardrobe lately.

If you have seen me in the past few years, I was probably wearing one of these:

HOODIES!!!

I am so. sick. of hoodies... Hoodies and t-shirts. That is all I wear... and I am starting to feel like a frumpy mom that just doesn't care anymore.

But it is not that I don’t
want to look nice; I am just not good at it…

I used to be! I still get lucky from time to time and am able to put a decent outfit together, but it usually takes me an hour of trying on everything in my closet and getting so frustrated that I don't even want to go out when I am done.

I don't know how to dress anymore...

I am 25. I am a college student, but I am also a wife and mom. I am short and stumpy petite so there are a lot of styles I just can't pull off.

And the stores are not helping!

Most department stores have 2 female sections:
Juniors and Womens.

Usually, the styles go straight from teenybopper to senior citizen, with no room in between.

I don’t want to look younger or older than I am. I just want to look like a 25 year old with a little style. I went into a store the other day and the check-out lady thought I was
SEVENTEEN. Seriously. I do not want to look like I am seventeen years old, walking around with my three kids.

So, that is why I am giving away most of my wardrobe... because some I have had since I
was a teenager... (yep, 16 in this pic and I STILL wear those pants)

and also because I wear the same outfits over and over and I am pretty sure folks are going to start donating clothes to me if I don't update soon ;)

I know clothes aren't very important in the grand scheme of things... I just need a few nice outfits to wear to church
(our church isn't particular about clothing but I like to look decent).

...and maybe something to wear on "date" night so my husband won't look like he's taking out his little sister.

So fashionistas, where are all the cool kids women shopping these days? Any favorite stores?
