Cabin Fever

Sooo, you know I would never complain about being a stay-at-home-mom… I only have a couple years left before I enter the full-time workforce, so I really try to enjoy each day with the boys.

Normally, I have errands or appointments that break up the monotony, but due to the boys being sick, we were coped up in the house ALLLLL week long. Pair that with David working late every night (and band practice), the kids and I had some major cabin fever going on by Thursday…

So what does the desperate house-mom do when she needs to get out with no place to go??

Step 1

Dress up… seriously, take a shower, do your hair and put on some normal clothes (
aka:not pjs) and make-up. (this does wonders for the self-esteem, at least for me)

Step 2

Dress the kids, wipe the days worth or ketchup and applesauce off their faces, and fix their hair.

Step 3

Make sure you have an extra battery for your camera; grab some juice boxes and granola bars (yes, I have to bribe my boys for them to actually let me take pictures), and load ‘em up!

Step 4

Start driving… you will figure out where to go… I drove through town and ended up at the little toddler park.

Toddler park = cute photos, kids have fun (
and work off all that extra energy), and mama gets some much needed adult conversation (thanks to that kind, older gentlemen and his wife).

Here is a preview:

We call this one Blue Steel:

Swing Time!!

Making silly faces ~ helped Nolan forget about the huge goose-egg on his head

Yes, I promise they are twins!

That’s right, I rocked the boys hair out, fixed myself up (okay, so a few of the moms at the park looked at me like I was nuts… whatev) and we had an impromptu photo-shoot with only a few minor bumps and bruises. =)

I am working with photoshop to redo my blog layout and edit some of the pics, so I’ll post some more later… I ‘m going to have to give myself a time-limit at night with photoshop, it is really addicting!!
